- Library services: The Departmental library is an NBHM Regional Mathematics Library; accordingly the library service is provided to mathematicians in the Western Region of India.
- Mathematics Talent Search: The department is instrumental in the conduct of Prof. A.R. Rao Ganit Spardha organized by R.Rao Foundation for the T.Y. B.Sc. (Mathematics) students in Gujarat.
- Popularization of Mathematics: Some of the faculty members have published popular articles in Mathematics both in English and Gujarati; so far 45 such articles have been published. They also take active part in various organizations like Gujarat Ganit Mandal etc. involved in popularization of Mathematics in particular in Gujarat.
- NBHM Test Centre: The Department is a Centre for the written test for NBHM Research Award as well as NBHM Sc. Scholarship.
- Involvement of faculty in professional organizations: The faculty members have been office bearers of professional bodies like, Gujarat Ganit Mandal, Indian Mathematical Society, Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation etc.; work on advisory boards, editorial boards of research journals; referees for research journals; reviewers of Reviews.
- Preparation of Question-banks for students appearing in the joint UGC-CSIR NET test.

The department constitutes a part of the extended Mathematics fraternity in Vallabh Vidyanagar, New Vallabh Vidyanagar and Anand; and is committed to the development of Mathematics in this part of the country.
