The Department of Electronics generally participates in various extension activities of the University. Sardar Patel University signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)with Prasar  Bharti to establish a Community Radio Station which is assisted by Department of Electronics. The Department actively participated in the establishment of Community Radio Station of the University, the First of its kind in the state of Gujarat & second in the Country (2004).

CERTIFICATE COURSE
A Government of Gujarat (GUJCOST) sponsored Six Months Certificate program on “VLSI and EMBEDDED SYSTEMS DESIGN” in the year 2009 with a financial assistance of Rs. 46 Laks.

Winner  of  “Hari  Ohm Award” for  best  Research  Paper  entitled “Design and  Development of a Microprocessor Based  Advanced  Model for  the ON-LINE  Condition Monitoring of  Oil immersed transformers ” by D.N.Bhatt, P.G.Patel, S.C.Shah, Shahera S.Patel, and B.H. Brahmbhatt” in  Computer  Science  and Computer Engineering subject  in Gujarat by “ Hari Ohm Ashram Prerit  Shri  Bhaikaka  Inter University Smarak Trust ” for the Year 1997-1998.
  11. Dr.V.S.Vaishnav received “Second Prize” through R.Chandrashekhar Memorial Foundation for the best industry oriented research work among those presented at the two consecutive National Seminars on Physics and Technology of Sensors during the year 1995-1996 organized by the University of Pune.
