Insightful Industry Visit:- Atlanta Electricals Private Limited
On 27 June, 2023, Post Graduate Department of Business Management orchestrated a highly beneficial industrial visit to Atlanta Electricals, V.U. Nagar. This visit catered to 70 students, accompanied by two faculty members, and aimed to provide them with valuable insights into the intricacies of Transformer design, manufacturing, and testing.
The visit encompassed comprehensive tour of key sections, such as Core Assembly, Winding Section, Core and Winding Assembly, Tank Assembly, and Quality Assurance Unit, all of which constitute vital components of Transformer production.
The team of seasoned engineers hailing from production and testing division, graciously acquainted students with company’s operations. The visit proved to be immensely insightful, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.Gratitude is extended to the accompanying faculty members and Atlanta Electricals’ officials for their cordial support and detailed explanations, which contributed to the visit’s resounding success.
Igniting Minds:- Expert Talk @ SPUMBA
On 1 August, 2023, Mr. Rohit Dave, a seasoned start-up coach and expert, graced Post Graduate Department of Business Management with an enlightening guest lecture on the topics “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and “Faster Career Growth.” With passion and wisdom, he shared invaluable insights on achieving success in both entrepreneurship and corporate careers. During the seminar, Mr. Dave emphasised key steps to start a start-up, succinctly captured in the “I HOPE” formula: Idea, Homework, Opportunities to earn money, Planning, and Execution. In the second segment, Mr. Dave shed light on the path to faster career growth as an employee, emphasizing the significance of taking initiative, networking, and effective communication.
The expert’s eloquence and wisdom left the audience motivated and ready to embark on their journey towards excellence and instilling the belief that they can carve their paths to success, both as entrepreneurs and employees.
Ancient Echoes @ SPUMBA
On December 5, 2023, Post Graduate Department of Business Management, Sardar Patel University, had the privilege of hosting Prof. Rampal Shukla, an eminent scholar and expert in Indian Knowledge Systems, as a guest faculty. Prof. Shukla delved into the profound significance of the Sanskrit language, elucidating the treasures of Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, and Shastras. He provided an insightful overview of the six classical schools of Indian philosophy, such as Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, and Vedanta; known as the Darsanas. He intricately connected the Panchmahabhutas to the human body, expounding on the four purusharthas and the paramount importance of Yoga. Engaging the audience with narratives from Mahabharata and the saga of Raja Harishchandra, he emphasized understanding the deeper purpose behind these tales. The session enlightened students and faculty members about the rich heritage of India’s intellectual traditions and the relevance of Indian knowledge systems in the contemporary world.
Symphony of Creativity SPUMBA
On January 11, 2024, the Post Graduate Department of Business Management had privilege of welcoming Dr. Kanubhai Patel, director at CVM College of Fine Arts, celebrated for his visionary contributions as both an accomplished artist and an actor. In his capacity as the president of Aanart Art Association and Lajja Rang Manch, Dr. Patel has earned distinguished accolades, such as Kala Bhushan and Bharat Kala Ratna.
In his captivating lecture, Dr. Patel seamlessly wove together the threads of creativity, strategic timing, and the enchantment of visuals and music, unveiling their pivotal role in advertising. The poetic rendition of “Rekha & Rang” added a lyrical dimension to the discourse, while the spellbinding series of paintings titled “Mask” showcased the depth and versatility of his artistic prowess that underscored the profound artistry of a true “Kalasadhak.” Students were enthralled, gaining profound insights into the kaleidoscopic world of creativity from this contemporary visionary.
Decoding the Essence of Brand Building @ SPUMBA
On January 19, 2024, the Post Graduate Department of Business Management had honor of hosting Mr. Maulik Parmar, a seasoned professional with exemplary 11-year tenure at ONE Advertising & Communication Services Ltd, currently serving as the Business Head. Mr. Parmar delivered enlightening insights on the intricacies of “Building a Brand through Effective Communication.” Emphasizing pivotal concept of “Brand…Inside Out,” he stressed the significance of internal audiences, such as employees and strategic partners, alongside external stakeholders who embody and personify the brand. Drawing on compelling examples from industry giants such as Domino’s and Surf Excel, Mr. Parmar elucidated the criticality of upholding brand promises. In his comprehensive session, Mr. Maulik Parmar not only shared insights on brand communication but also graciously imparted invaluable advice on a rewarding career in advertising. In conclusion, he emphatically conveyed that a successful brand demands meticulous strategic planning, dispelling the notion that it merely happens by chance.
Sports Extravaganza @ “SPUMBA”
On 9 August, 2023, Post Graduate Department of Business Management set the campus ablaze with heartwarming display of unity and sportsmanship. This memorable day was brimming with excitement as six vibrant groups of students wholeheartedly engaged in spirited game of Kho-kho.
The festivities commenced with our esteemed faculty members, leading by example, igniting the flame of inspiration that would burn brightly throughout the event. With each student group taking center stage on field, the atmosphere was electric with cheers and encouragement from their peers. It was day when friendships and bonds were strengthened through spirit of healthy competition, spotlighting invaluable lessons of teamwork and collaboration.
It stands as a testament to holistic development that our institution fervently advocates, where sports seamlessly intertwine with education. This was a day when students not only sharpened their strategic acumen but also reveled in spirit of togetherness that defines essence of our academic journey.
Vibrant Campus Events Enliven the Spirit of Excellence at “SPU-MBA”
The Post Graduate Department of Business Management, Sardar Patel University, recently ignited the campus with a series of invigorating events, fostering a profound sense of camaraderie and achievement. Under the coordination of Mr. Dhruvin Vora, President of the student council, and support of the dedicated efforts of the sports committee, the MBA Department proudly organized the “Paramparagat Ramatotsav” – a traditional sports championship that transcended departmental boundaries. With enthusiastic participation from various departments across the university, the event showcased an array of traditional games, including Lagori, Tug of War, Gilli Danda, Marbles, Spinning Top and more. The winners of the event were bestowed with medals, by Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel, and the Registrar of the university, Dr. Bhailalbhai Patel.
Amidst the festive fervor of Uttarayan, the MBA Department also orchestrated a jubilant “Patangotsav,” painting the sky above SP University with vibrant hues and competitive zeal. Kites danced gracefully, engaged in friendly duels that elicited cheers of triumph for each successful cut from participants and spectators alike. This celebration not only embraced the joy of the season but also exemplified the spirit of unity and enthusiasm.
In the spirit of national pride and reverence of the historic inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, our department orchestrated a remarkable “Ramotsav” event. This special occasion immersed students and faculty members in the cultural and spiritual essence of the moment, featuring a vibrant Rathyatra where students enthusiastically portrayed characters from the Ramayana, embodying the virtues of Lord Rama. Melodious hymns dedicated to Lord Rama reverberated through the campus, cultivating pious and uplifting atmosphere.
Expert Talk on Lifestyle for Environment @ SPUMBA
On 29 February, 2024, Post Graduate Department of Business Management, Sardar Patel University proudly hosted event under VIKSIT BARAT @ 2047 YUVAMANTHAN MODEL UNITED NATIONS on theme of “Lifestyle for Environment”, orchestrated under adept coordination of Dr. Yogesh C Joshi. Distinguished guests Shri Mitesh Patel, Member of Parliament from the Lok Sabha and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Niranjan Patel, elevated the event with their graceful presence. A highlight of the occasion was the presence of Dr. Bhalendu Vaishnav, Head of Department of Medicine, Pramukh Swami Medical College; delivered enlightening talk on “Spirituality – Key to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals: Health, Education, and Management.” Dr. Vaishnav delved into spirituality in education, emphasizing significance of Indian Knowledge System. In health, he emphasized the importance of Ayurveda and collaborative wisdom. In management, he discussed concept of “Outside the Classroom Learning” and transformative power of working on one’s inner self; leading to accomplishment of sustainable goals.
Workshop on the Awareness and Perception of National Education Policy 2020 among Universities in Gujarat, India: An Empirical Study Focusing on Implementation Status, Knowledge Gaps and Key Challenges.
The Post Graduate Department of Management, Sardar Patel University,Vallabh Vidyanagar, and School of Business Studies ITM, SLS Baroda University, received a short-term project for the years 2023–24 from ICSSR New Delhi. Under which a workshop was organized as a part of the project today, February 16, 2024. The main objective of the workshop was to inform all those associated with educational institutions on how to succeed in applying NEP 2020, how it will be beneficial to students, and what challenges will be faced in applying the policy. The workshop began with participant registration, followed by the distribution of kits and refreshments. The inaugural session began with lamp lighting, prayer, and the university song. In this session, the chief guest of the programme, Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel, Offg. Vice-chancellor, as well as the keynote speakers and the guests, were welcomed by giving bouquets and mementos.
All the participants were also warmly welcomed. Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel, speaking during the presidential notes, told some important things about NEP 2020, how Sardar Patel University is also working to implement it, and wished for the success of the programme outline of the workshop: In this workshop, Dr. Tejas P. Joshi, Associate Professor MSU, Krishna Kumarsinghji, Bhavnagar University, and Associate Professor Dr. Mitesh Jaiswal, P.G. Department of Management, from Sardar Patel University were present. Around 200 participants ttended this programme. The director of the project, Dr. Darshana Dave, briefed all those present in the programme about yhe topic of the workshop. Then the keynote speaker, Dr. Tejas P. Joshi, gave in-depth information about the problems and challenges in the implementation of the National Education Policy and their solutions. In his session, he discussed the five guiding pillars of multilingualism and the establishment of the National Education Policy 2020: access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability.
Then, in the second part of session, Dr. Mitesh Jaiswal gave in-depth, interesting information about the Academic Bank of Credit in his speech. In which he said that through ABC, students do not need yo leave their studies at the time of migration or for any other reason but can continue the same studies by going to a new place. Through the Academic Bank of Credit, they can easily access their study information at any educational institution in the country or the world., present it, and continue their studies.
Then after, Dr. Darshana Dave gave detailed information about the planning of the entire research under the project, the objectives of the research conducted, data collection, and analysis of primary data. Dr. Ahmed Rahim Munshi, the most active group member of the project, spoke about his project, “A Study on the Awareness and Perception of National Education Policy 2020 among universities in Gujarat, India: An Empirical Study Focusing on Implementation Status, Knowledge Gaps, and Key Challenges.” The main findings were discussed. And it was said that the state of Gujarat is more aware than other states of the importance of initiating the implementation of the policy. According to the main findings of their research, the stakeholders in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar have a greater awareness of the entire state, which is the main reason that it is the most developed in Gujarat. It is also the case that there are more educational institutions in the area. Another finding was that, according to the sources of Vadodara and Surat, there was more awareness among the stakeholders of Surat as compared to the two areas. He said in his presentation that he has used Google Cloud to present a descriptive data analysis showing the importance of key terms in the research. He elaborated on how he analysed the data obtained throughout the research and what it indicated.
