Welcome to the Department of Library and Information Science
The Department started in June 1982 with Bachelor of Library and Information Science course. While Master of Library and Information Science started in 1988, M. Phil was first started in 1991-92, for a year & closed it because of insufficient Infrastructure facility. Again started in 2004 and Ph. D. in 1996.Like steadily the development of courses took place under the department. This may be the only University in Gujarat who has started all the four courses. BLISc and MLISc are full time courses, (Two Semester) while MLISc & MPhil is part time courses MLISc (Four Semester) & MPhil (Two Semester). For PhD both the options are open – full time & part time.
