Future Plan

A very rare situation of doing research in many research areas in statistics exists in the department. To strengthen and enhance the research the department, the department has to add few more regular faculties who are keen in both teaching and research. In case, with the support of university authorities and government, we could fill the two vacant positions our objective would be to add a new upcoming research area “Big Data Analysis”. Further if our future plan as said in the “Department Profile” sub-menu gets fulfilled, we may few research areas like Statistical Management of Productivity, Quality and Reliability. To enhance research we have the following plans.
  1. Encourage long term (at least a year) faculty exchange programme between our department with two more leading statistics departments of the country and abroad (we well planned MOU).
  2. Encourage teachers to submit major research projects.
  3. To gather fund through self-finance programmes to recruit few more faculty on regular basis.
  4. Enhance e-resource for research with help UGC and other funding agencies.
